🚬🥃 Bourbon & Cigar Pairing Event led by Straus Tobacconist & “Short Barrel’s” Master Distillers 🥃

We have decided it’s about time in 2025 to host a Bourbon & Cigar pairing event where you will learn about, while also enjoying, 2 different cigars & 3 different bourbons & why they go well together! If you are not into the cigar aspect or maybe not the bourbon, you are always welcome to participate in one of the other. Both is not a requirement but instead, a recommendation!

Straus Tobacconist owner Jim will go over the in’s & out’s of his cigar selections, where they are from, how to think about pairing a cigar with a spirit, etc…enthusiast or not, this is a fun & educational event for cigar & bourbon lovers alike. Jim will have extra of these selections available to sell to you, along with additional cigar options to choose from that you can add to your personal collections or purchase as gifts for friends/family!

A representative of Kentucky Eagle Distributing will be out with representatives from “Short Barrel” to discuss his Bourbon selections from “Old Fourth Distillery” featuring “Short Barrel Bourbon”. ALL THREE Bourbons chosen for this event we do not carry in house regularly & are bringing in specifically for this pairing event due to the exclusivity of these bottles! 2 out of 3 of these bourbons have under 30 cases total made…meaning, once it’s gone, IT’S GONE!

A VERY select amount of all 3 bottles will be available for purchase by the bottle only, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST! Be sure to move fast at this event if you fall in love with one of these offerings, as supplies for these bourbons are extremely limited, as mentioned.

For this event, we will have 2 cigars paired with 3, 1 oz pours of Top Shelf Quality Bourbon for $65 per participant. Information about these Bourbon selections listed is at the end of this post! If we carried these Bourbons, these selections would fall under our Top Shelf Premium Bourbon offerings price point, meaning that these bourbons are Fantastic individual sippers that will definitely wow you, without being out of reach! They are not your everyday pour, but one you will look forward to enjoying time & time again!

If you are interested in trying the BOURBON ONLY or would prefer to omit the Bourbon & simply want to enjoy the Cigars, that is totally fine! For those interested in enjoying the BOURBON ONLY TASTING, that will cost $45 for the 3, 1 oz pours. If you are interested in enjoying the CIGARS ONLY, that will cost $25 for the 2 cigars.

This event will be outside on one of our patios, a bonfire pit will be lit & we will also be able to enjoy the Live Music of the evening together as well. BOURBON SELECTION INFORMATION:

– Short Barrel Cigar Batch:
~Finished for 1-3 years in Cognac, Rum, Armagnac, & Tawny Port Casks.
~Aroma: Leather and charred oak with sweet nuances of vanilla and dried fruit.
~Palate: Layers of smoky oak, smooth vanilla, caramelized fruit, and complex spice.
~Finish: Long‑lasting with smoky leather and sweet vanilla lingering on the tongue.

-Short Barrel Double Oaked:
~Aged 6-13 years, then finished with precision, this blend showcases the perfect marriage of seasoned maturity & fresh oak intensity
~Aroma: Toasted marshmallow, dark fruit, vanilla, & oak driven richness.
~Palate: Palate matches aroma, with a silk finish!

-Front Porch Bourbon:
~Aroma: Cedar, oak, honeysuckle.
~Palate: Oak, leather, sweet tobacco, & notes of fresh baked bread.
